Stop #2 on the mom birthday extravaganza!
It never fails, whenever we go to San Tan for shopping, we will always go to Cantina Laredo. They have amazing food and their dessert(s) are amazing!
After Brio, we decided to go to Cantina for dessert and drinks. Let me tell you, you have NOT had apple pie until you've had Cantina Laredo's Mexican Apple Pie.
Let me set the scene for you:
The waiter brings out the pie on a simple ceramic plate along with a scalding hot skillet. The waiter places the pie on the skillet and it cooks the bottom of the crust and sizzles. A scoop of cinnamon ice cream is added to the top of the pie and then a cup of Mexican Brandy Butter is drizzled all over the pie and covers the entire skillet. Sizzling and bubbling and making the entire restaurant smell like cinnamon and butter. You can't really go wrong with that!
If anyone evers comes to visit me and hasn't been to Cantina Laredo before, you can bet your sweet ass I will be taking you there, if only for the pie.
Oh yeah, and I had 2 Jameson and diet cokes and a shot of Don Julio Añejo (with lemon instead of lime).
